The Whites

****A pure white poem and empty shops****

I asked a dog-walker for the short cut
to the local centre shop.
She told me 'Walk to the village green
then turn right.
A skip and a hop.''Thank you' I said, unknowingly
that the village green WASN'T green..
Everything was blanketed in a coat of snow, it was WHITE
where the green had been!
I followed the tracks and got to the shop
where crowds were milling about lost.
The bread and eggs they were looking for
could not be bought at any cost.
The shelves were bare, reminded me
of reports I'd seen on the telly.
Thirds World countries, very little food,
youngsters with hunger-swollen bellies.
Ah well, it's pasta for me tonightand tomorrow again, no doubt.
Those tomatoes in cans will be useful and,
I expect, the tin of beans will eke it out.

Tiny boxes with a big heart

Two Boxes
I have in my hands two boxes
Which God gave me to hold
He said,"Put all your sorrows in the black,
And all your joys in the gold."
I heeded his words, and in the two boxes
Both my joys and sorrows I store
But though the gold became heavier each day
The black was as light as before
With curiosity, I opened the black
I wanted to find out why
And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole
Which my sorrows had fallen out by
I showed the hole to God, and mused aloud, "I wonder where my sorrows could be."
He smiled a gentle smile at me. "My child, they're all here with me."
I asked,"God, why give me the boxes,
"Why the gold, and the black with the hole?"
"My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings, the black is for you to let go."

A morning with Alzura

One of my very close friend, Al came for a visit today. Our friendship started when we were paired to be roomates in our first semester in UUM....and till now we are still the best of friend. She really 'taught' me a lot the meaning of “friendship”. Thanks a million Al.
Well...since this is her first visit to Izz Craft, these are my attempt to make the best for her visit.

I transformed the dining area wth crystal flowers & vase.

I used the miaw spatula to bake cakes & swiss roll for her

plucked 'fresh' fruits for her

ladybird cups for coffee & little forks for the cakes

tissue papers.....

last but not least..dustbin...

Thanks so much again Al, for coming... Izz said.." Izz luv Aunty Al".
